I have not been back to Venice for two decades. Knowing that with over 11 Mio. visitors per year it would be a crowded place to be, not my preference.

Once Corona hit and with it the lockdown I saw an opportunity to experience Venice maybe like never again for quite a while.

And so it was on June 3rd, 2020, the day the Italian government opened the country again I was one of the first on site. The lagoon town was truly almost still empty with only a few local Italians visiting during daytime, making the place almost a ghost town at night. Lastly I was fortunate enough to fly my drone, unthinkable during normal crowds and current drone regulation.
